The Shurflo SLV Series Diaphragm Pumps are automatic demand pumps powered by a 12-volt DC electric motor. They are used for low volume, intermittent-duty spraying applications on sprayers requiring a compact pump with low power consumption.
The small compact size of the Shurflo SLV Series Demand Pumps make them ideal for placement on ATV sprayers or spot sprayers for low volume agricultural spraying and fluid transfer applications.
For maximum chemical resistance, these pumps have a unique design that have no metals in the fluid path. The Viton valves and Santoprene diaphragm offer excellent chemical resistance to handle a wide variety of general agricultural chemicals, including liquid fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, insecticides, and other hard-to-handle fluids.
Demand Pump Applications: Demand pumps are used in applications that require a set flow and pressure (eg. spray wands on spot sprayers). They do not require the need for a pressure regulator. The pressure sensing demand switch reacts to outlet pressure and interrupts power at a preset shutoff pressure. Once the outlet pressure dips below a predetermined level, the switch will close and the pump will only operate until the shutoff pressure is attained once again. The pressure demand switch automatically turns the pump on and off as liquid flow is required. Note that demand pumps require a balanced flow, so if the nozzle used on your spray gun or spray boom is too small, it may restrict the flow, which would result in your demand pump shutting off.
