Product Description

Measure the actual height of golf green turf grass so you can compare it with mower bench settings to ensure the proper cut with the Prism Gage.

This turf grass measuring tool for golf greens is a right angle prism labelled with precise graduated measurement lines on one face of the prism. When viewing through the Prism Gage, the graduated lines are superimposed on turf, allowing the user to measure the actual height of the turf grass, and be able to compare it with mower bench settings. The user can also inspect the smoothness and quality of cut by comparing the turf over the viewing plane of the prism.

Once light enters the prism, the user can compare the cut turf against the measurement lines. The lines are inscribed at 0.100", 0.200", 0.300", 0.400", 0.500", 0.750", 1.0" and 1.5". The lines appear superimposed on turf enabling the user to determine the actual height of cut. By slightly tilting the prism, a larger overview of turf may be viewed in order to observe the quality of cut.

Using the Prism Gage ensures that all of your cutting equipment operates at the same height of cut and leaves smooth, clean edges. It permits turf managers and golf course maintenance staff to view the cut and condition of their turf after being mowed. A simple error of 0.010" in height can result in a visible mismatch on golf greens.

The Optional Film Transparency is an overlay with graduation lines at 0.25" intervals to allow the user to more closely measure the height of cut with the Prism Gage.
