Product Description

Improve nutrient efficiency and the condition of your soil with Humic DG Organic Dispersing Granular Soil Conditioner (SGN 240).

Humic DG is a homogeneous dispersing granule (DG) that provides all the proven benefits of humic and fulvic acids in an easy-to-use product. It combines pure, dry humate and humic acid precursor to create a spherical granule that contains thousands of micro-sized humate particles.

These uniform granules utilize a proprietary dispersible granule (DG) technology. Each granule disperses into thousands of micro-sized particles with irrigation or rainfall, facilitating the incorporation of the product into the soil. The hard granule has low moisture and dust content, allowing for it to be blended easily with other components, including urea-based fertilizers. After a few minutes of watering, these micro-sized particles dissolve into the soil, immediately working to improve nutrient efficiency and soil conditions.

Humic DG is biological, dispersible, spreadable, and blendable.

  • Biological: contains 4 biologically-active components (humic acid precursor, fulvic acid, humic acid, and humin) that range from very soluble to completely insoluble in soil media. They work together to provide the soil with a broad range of biological benefits, from plant available fulvic acids to the insoluble, high nutrient holding capacity of humin.
  • Dispersible: the magic in Humic DG is the DG technology, which serves to enhance humate distribution. After contact with water, each DG granule disperses into thousands of micro particles, moving directly into the root zone and working to improve health and quality of turf, crops, or plants.
  • Spreadable: the uniform, spherical granules allow for easy spreading with all standard application equipment. Competitive humic acid products are non-uniform and dusty, but Humic DG granules are uniform, spherical, and dust-free, making them easier to apply as a straight product or part of a fertilizer blend. It contains a high concentration of organic carbon sources in a self-incorporating form. Engineered granules are highly uniform in size, with a uniformity index of 40+. Compared to liquid humates, Humic DG provides more organic carbon, resulting in a more efficient application, saving time and money.
  • Blendable: The granules are unique among dry humate products in their ability to be blended with most fertilizer components, including urea. The 240 SGN sizing closely matches the sizing of most fertilizer components. Very dry granules contain only 7-9% moisture, allowing for a dry, free-flowing product and enhancing stability of the blend. Humic DG granules are engineered to resist attrition in handling and blending. With 90% attrition resistance, Humic DG is superior to mined humates, resulting in dust-free, free-flowing blends.

For best results, water the area with a minimum of 8 mm (0.3") of water. The product will self-incorporate into coarse textured soils. Cold weather and / or cold water (lower than 7° C / 45° F) can result in slower particle dispersion. Humic DG can be applied to all crops, including vegetable crops, row crops, field crops, and more. It is also great for lawns, gardens, herbs, trees, shrubs, vines, ornamentals, nursery, xeriscaping, greenhouse, and potting soils.

Application Rates

  • Crops (Broadcast): Apply 45 kg / hectare (40 lbs / acre) or higher as a broadcast treatment, 1-2 times annually. Best applied in fall, post-harvest, or early spring. May be used at pre-plant up to first blossom or anytime fertilizer is applied. For severely carbon depleted soils, apply 45-565 kg / hectare (40-500 lbs / acre).
  • Crops (in-furrow / banded): Apply 4.5-11.2 kg / hectare (4-10 lbs / acre).
  • Turf: Apply 45-225 kg / hectare (40-200 lbs / acre) per year. Apply 0.5-1 kg / 100 sq. meters (1-2 lbs / 1000 sq. ft.) anytime during growing season. Can be applied after aeration as a top-dress treatment. If desired, mix with the sand media. Apply and water in for self incorporation. Make additional applications to deficient areas.
  • Trees and Shrubs: Apply 57-226 grams (2-8 oz.) as a band around the base of each tree or shrub. Larger trees and shrubs should use the higher rate.
  • Ornamentals and Bedding Plants: Apply 0.5-1.0 kg / 100 sq. meters (1-2 lbs / 1000 sq. ft.) as a broadcast treatment.
  • Potting Soils: Mix 0.9-4.5 kg (2-10 lbs) per cubic yard / verge cube of potting mix.
