Bahco Bypass Loppers for pruning and training all kinds of vines. Blade has two different edge radii for quick and powerful cuts and to finish the cut smoothly and easily.
Please note that the P116-SL-40 has tubular light-weight aluminum handles with the same cutting head as the other sizes which have oval steel handles. The newer lightweight P116 Series will slowly replace the P16 model.
The bypass lopper is designed for cutting live wood. The cutting blade of this lopper slides past a forged counterblade in a scissor action, hence the name "bypass". The pivot bolt of the Bahco Lopper is offset from the natural centre-line of the tool. This unique design feature creates a slicing motion during cutting, which greatly assists the pruning of live wood and spreads wear over a larger area of the blade for increased life. The hook shape of the Bahco lopper counterblade enables a large cutting diameter and holds the branch steady during cutting. The sap groove is a recess which reduces the area of contact between blade and counterblade and results in less friction and sticking.
- Cutting thickness is 1 1/4".
- Three metal handle lengths to choose from: 16", 20" and 24"
- Very robust, forged counterblade.
- Soft rubber buffers between the handles to prevent fatigue.
