Yellow Sticky Cards
Overview
Product Description
The Yellow Sticky Cards are an integral part of any integrated pest management (IPM) program. They are used in greenhouses, homes, orchards, flowers, vegetables, and anywhere that insects are a problem. The glue does not dry out or wash off. Each card measures 3 5/8" by 5 1/8".
The traps will last until the entire surface area is covered with insects.
For Fungus Gnats, the Yellow Sticky Traps are most effective when placed horizontally on the potting media surface, although vertically positioned cards hung over the crop canopy are also effective and trap more of other types of insect pests as well. Vertically, they are used to monitor or control whiteflies, shore flies, winged aphids, leafminers, onion flies, carrot rust flies and scales.
In greenhouses, cards placed under the benches, close to intake vents, near doorways and just outside the greenhouse can provide additional information to detect breeding areas. If you are continuously monitoring (weekly), they can provide the following information:
- First detection of low populations
- Population density increases or decreases over time
- The level and length of suppression resulting from the implementation of suppression tactics.
Yellow Sticky Cards are used for monitoring at the rate of one trap per 250 square feet, though it is more prevalently used at one per 1000 square feet in larger or monoculture greenhouses.
